This 100-year-old colonial tea bungalow of Taljhora is one of the most well-kept Manager’s Tea Bungalows in Dooars. Spending a few nights in this bungalow would surely take you to the forgotten days of the British Raj and the adventurous lives of tea planters. Our Taljhora Bungalow is very near to Chapramari Forest, Jaldapara Reserve Forest and Gorumara National Park, so wildlife safaris and activities like bird watching and butterfly watching can also be enjoyed by guests. We also arrange for tea-factory visits and tea tasting sessions for our guests.

Accommodation at Taljhora Bungalow

The tea bungalow is located within the tea gardens and is flanked by manicured lawns, landscaped gardens, gazebos and trees holding hammocks. A large portico, typical of British buildings adorns this bungalow too. Within the bungalow, there are 03 suite rooms, a dining hall and a drawing room. The drawing room and dining area have fireplaces too. The drawing room is decked with couches while the portico has high armchairs and  hanging chairs. All rooms in the Taljhora Bungalow are air conditioned and come with large comfy beds, wardrobes, dressing tables, sitting arrangements and attached bathrooms with hot water geysers.

How to reach Taljhora Bungalow

If you are availing train, then the nearest important railway station is New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) located around 65 kms. away. It takes around 1.5 hours on NH71 to reach Taljhora from NJP. The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport (IXB) which is around 95 kms. away and takes around 2.5 hours on NH10 and NH31.

National Parks and forests like Neora Valley, Jaldapara, Gorumara and Chapramari are all near to Taljhora bungalow. Most of these forests have arrangements for jungle safaris which can be attained from Taljhora Tea Bungalow. If you are having a few days in hand, then sightseeing trips to nearby destinations like Murti (20 kms), Samsing (43 kms), Bindu and Jhallong (48 kms) can also be on your cards.

Apart from enjoying sightseeing trips, jungle safaris, bird watching and village walks, you can visit our tea factories to see and understand tea making. Our experts would also guide you through the entire process of tea plucking, processing and tea tasting. If you are just planning for a few days of leisure trip, then you can stay put in our bungalow, take short walks around our tea gardens and spend your evening playing billiard in our common room. We can also arrange for cultural programs in the evenings on request.
